This guide explains how to add, use, and remove the Google Calendar integration for Calendar Booking Service. Calendar Booking Service is operated by Cross Platform Consulting (Pty) Ltd.
The integration uses Google OAuth so Calendar Booking Service can sync availability and booking events with Google calendars you own. Calendar Booking Service does not request access to calendars you do not own, Gmail, Drive, Contacts, or other Google products.
Requirements
- An active Calendar Booking Service account. Google Calendar sync is available on Free and Pro.
- A Google Account with permission to authorise third-party apps.
- At least one Google calendar you own (typically your primary calendar).
Adding the integration
Follow these steps to connect Google Calendar to Calendar Booking Service:
- Open the Google Calendar landing page https://calendarbookingservice.com/integrations/google
- Log in (or create a free account), then continue to Integrations with Google Calendar highlighted.
- Click Connect on the Google Calendar card.
- Sign in to Google if prompted and approve the requested permissions. Expand “See details” / “Show all services” so every scope is readable.
- After authorisation, you are returned to Calendar Booking Service and the Google Calendar card should show your connected account email.
Calendar Booking Service requests these Google scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.owned: see, create, change, and delete events on Google calendars you ownhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email: see your primary Google Account email address
Narrower read-only permissions would not work: Calendar Booking Service must create and update booking events, and delete them when bookings are cancelled.
Using the integration
Availability sync
- Calendar Booking Service reads events on calendars you own to keep your public booking availability accurate.
- Busy events block bookable slots; free/transparent events do not.
Booking events
- When a booking is confirmed, Calendar Booking Service creates an event on your primary Google calendar with the customer name, meeting type, and join link if a video meeting was created.
- On Pro, Google Meet links are created automatically with the calendar event for video bookings (unless you choose Zoom). Deleting the Google event removes the Meet.
- Rescheduled bookings update the matching Google Calendar event.
- Cancelled bookings delete the matching Google Calendar event.
- Blocked time you create in Calendar Booking Service can also be written to Google Calendar.
Removing the integration
Option 1: Disconnect in Calendar Booking Service
- Open Integrations in your workspace.
- On the Google Calendar card, click Disconnect.
- Calendar Booking Service deletes the stored Google OAuth tokens for your workspace.
- Calendar Booking Service removes booking and block events it previously created in Google Calendar, and clears imported Google events from your Calendar Booking Service calendar view.
- New bookings will no longer sync to Google until you connect again.
Option 2: Revoke access in your Google Account
- Open Google Account → Security → Third-party access (or Connected apps).
- Remove access for Calendar Booking Service / Calendar Booking Service.
We recommend also disconnecting Google Calendar inside Calendar Booking Service so your workspace status stays accurate.
Troubleshooting
Google Calendar connected but email is missing
Reconnect Google Calendar from Integrations so the token includes the userinfo.email scope.
Bookings are not appearing in Google Calendar
Confirm the booking is confirmed (not pending approval), Google Calendar shows Connected on Integrations, and you are looking at the primary calendar for the connected Google account.
Availability still shows a busy slot as free
Allow a short sync interval, then refresh your booking page. Events marked as free/transparent in Google do not block availability.
